Perchance To Dream

Sorry if anyone has been waiting for my moment of calm today – its a bit late… but better late than never.

I first played this off a night with not enough sleep – then a very brief rehearsal in the morning followed by an afternoon in a rowing boat fishing for mackerel off the coast at Largs 😲 and finally the concert in the evening.

Like many of my choices the horn parts are really good and the way in which Humperdinck passes the tune around the section is great.  This is clearly something that the cameraman/producer failed to understand in this particular video as the horn section are horrendously short changed in terms of being seen 😮 – but they can definitely be heard 😉.

For those not familiar with the music, Hansel and Gretel first sing their prayers before falling asleep and then the angels come and surround them – protecting them as they sleep.
