I have had a few people asking me to post some more music links – OK, maybe one or two people but it is nice that they have been missing my contributions. I have been considering doing so – although certainly not returning to the everyday posts – but waiting for something suitable (and worthwhile) to trigger me to start doing it. Today I found something.
Orchestral
A Fitting Finale
Well one year and around 400 pieces of music later this was the last of my regular shares of “my music” on Facebook….
A Hero’s Life
Back to lots of horns tonight for this week’s big work. Although this video is over an hour long, the Strauss only lasts about 45 minutes.
Music For Easter Saturday
A slightly belated share for Easter Saturday
An Odd Choice?
No horns or percussion in sight with this choice! This is, most certainly, a piece of music by a composer that I would not have expected to feature in my selection.
Completing the “Elgar Set”
Tonight’s big work is Elgar’s 1st Symphony.
Where is Silver?
Another old TV theme tune – although surely this is an easy one to identify. Not sure about the rest of the operas, but the Rossini Overtures are great!
On The High Seas
Another TV theme tune for you to identify. I think this was the only music of Khachaturian that I ever played. Lovely music.
Another Pair
After two Romeos and Juliets today we have Daphnis et Chloé.
Another R&J
We stick with the same subject matter for today’s music – here is Tchaikovsky’s vision of Romeo and Juliet.
