I have had a few people asking me to post some more music links – OK, maybe one or two people but it is nice that they have been missing my contributions. I have been considering doing so – although certainly not returning to the everyday posts – but waiting for something suitable (and worthwhile) to trigger me to start doing it. Today I found something.

For Good Friday – A Requiem
For Good Friday – a Requiem. My first choice would be Fauré – but I have shared that before so tonight it is Mozart.
More Bach For Easter
It turns out that the composer who, perhaps surprisingly, has the most entries in my playlist over the last months is the person who is getting another bit of publicity tonight.
The Joy Of Music From Melk
This evening we have brass and organ music from the rather magnificent Melk Abbey in Austria.
Where is Silver?
Another old TV theme tune – although surely this is an easy one to identify. Not sure about the rest of the operas, but the Rossini Overtures are great!
On The High Seas
Another TV theme tune for you to identify. I think this was the only music of Khachaturian that I ever played. Lovely music.
This is The Entertainment
Another choice that might not appeal to everyone – the description in the video describes this composition as “gloriously off the wall” – which sort of sums it up quite well.
Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving – and what more apt piece of music than this for today. Bach has probably been under-represented in my choices up until now, so this will make up for that a little.
Lesser Spotted Beethoven
If we did a quiz and I asked you to name as many pieces of music by Beethoven that you could think of, I suspect that this overture would be well down the list! It was, however, the first orchestral work of Beethoven that I ever played.
Its Mozart – But Not As You Know It
Think it is time for something lighter – this is from Mozartwoche Salzburg a few years ago and I am sure it will bring a smile – mostly to my Scottish friends!!🏴🏴
