This set of posts started out as a daily post on Facebook during the “lockdown times” in 2020/21 – sharing pieces of music that had some sort of ‘connection’ for me. They are, of course, a bit difficult to find on FB after all this time so I decided to recreate them here – alongside the many comments that were made on the original posts. My intention would be to add to the original list as and when I find recordings that attract me.
Boscombe Band at Jönköping in 1990
Although some of the videos of the Band have cropped up during my previous blogging I thought that it would be a good idea to bring more of them together in a series of posts. Many of them are, of course, available on the Band’s own website but this will allow me to create the record of these memories alongside my other music posts.
What A Difference An Arrangement Makes
My previous post was about a performance by Voces8 and Ringmasters and they once again feature here.
My Favourite Christmas Song
This is perhaps my favourite Christmas song – written by Michael Praetorius and arranged here by Jan Sandström
Some New Posts At Last
I have been concentrating so much on getting all the Facebook stuff across to this platform that I have somewhat neglected adding some new performances that catch my eye/ear. I have two such videos from the last few days.
The Old Posts
Eventually all this will be separated into separate posts – but for now here is a VERY big post covering all the original FB stuff that hasn’t already been added to the b2evolution version of this blog. As I populate this blog I will break these down and delete them from this post.
Overcoming Obstacles
I have had a few people asking me to post some more music links – OK, maybe one or two people but it is nice that they have been missing my contributions. I have been considering doing so – although certainly not returning to the everyday posts – but waiting for something suitable (and worthwhile) to trigger me to start doing it. Today I found something.
A Fitting Finale
Well one year and around 400 pieces of music later this was the last of my regular shares of “my music” on Facebook….
A Hero’s Life
Back to lots of horns tonight for this week’s big work. Although this video is over an hour long, the Strauss only lasts about 45 minutes.
Russian Music For Easter
There are many pieces of Easter music being shared in different ways today. So I have gone for something less familiar so as not to duplicate.
