It is a question often asked – what is your favourite music; what is your favourite restaurant; what is your favourite book? The list is if not endless then very long. I don’t know about other people, but for me it is always a question that elicits an answer that is – at best – evasive. The problem, for me, is that all the topics on which one might be asked “your favourite” are extremely subjective and it is, again for me, nigh on impossible to come up with a definitive answer.
Fun
A Bit Of Light Relief
OK, so a bit of fun tonight and, as it’s Saturday it ought to be something to complete with Strictly 😏
Nearly French😂
I think that a bit of fun is called for seeing as it is Saturday.
Its Mozart – But Not As You Know It
Think it is time for something lighter – this is from Mozartwoche Salzburg a few years ago and I am sure it will bring a smile – mostly to my Scottish friends!!🏴🏴
Thickening Up Facebook
Its a common complaint and a justified one in my opinion that Facebook has too much “junk” and not enough content. I have been challenged over recent days over what I could do about that and this is my first attempt at formulating those thoughts.
Lustrum
Another volume about the Rome of Cicero.
Are We Less Smart Than We Think We Are?
I am often intrigued by the type of post that appear on Social Media that ‘shout’ “only the smartest can get this right” or “only people with high intelligence can do this”. My gut feel is that these were simply ‘click-bait’ – trying to draw you in with the promise of proving that you are ‘better’ than many.
Are You Happy With Your Profile Picture?
On social media, is your profile picture how you see yourself or how you want others to see you?
Out With The Old!!
Having just checked back I discovered that since I started on this blog I have a woeful record when it comes to writing anything at the start of the year! Not a single post (until now) written in January of any year. I don’t think there is any particular reason for that – but it is time I broke the pattern. The other good reason for a post this month is that it completes 12 consecutive months with at least one post.
Discworld – The Next Chapter
Just yesterday I wrote about how I like to visit different “worlds” when I am reading. Last night I got to the end of the story of one of those worlds. Knowing that it was his last novel, getting to the end of Sir Terry Pratchett’s “The Shepherd’s Crown” was always going to be tinged with disappointment – not in the story itself, but because we will never know what happens next to the many characters that we have met through the Discworld series.
