My previous post was about a performance by Voces8 and Ringmasters and they once again feature here.

Who DO We Meet in Heaven
This post has been ‘brewing’ for some time without making it into the blog! For the purposes of this bit of writing we shall ignore the many mysteries surrounding the ideas of heaven and hell and simply assume that there is really a “good place” that we can all aim to attain. Some of those mysteries, by the nature of the question will need to be mentioned (but certainly not resolved) as we explore who we will meet there.
Russian Music For Easter
There are many pieces of Easter music being shared in different ways today. So I have gone for something less familiar so as not to duplicate.
Maundy Thursday Music
Most recent years on Maundy Thursday I would have been listening to our Band play this piece of music. Many of the tracks from our Easter CD were featured this time last year (the videos are all available on the Band website) but this track wasn’t included.
More Bach For Easter
It turns out that the composer who, perhaps surprisingly, has the most entries in my playlist over the last months is the person who is getting another bit of publicity tonight.
An African Mass
Within my record collection there are a few that might qualify as “surprises” – this is one of those.
A Golden Oldie
A Salvation Army “golden oldie” for this week’s Sunday Choice. – Eric Ball’s “The Pilgrim Way” – first published in 1934. This is a re-arrangement for brass quintet – so probably a version that few of you will have heard before! (and yes, Eric Ball gave his blessing to this arrangement)
A Simple Song
Leonard Bernstein has featured a few times – as conductor and composer – and this is another share of his music – this time it is not from West Side Story but from his Mass. Arranged for Brass Quintet this version is from one of my favourite CDs from the many that the Canadian Brass have produced – I know I have shared at least one track from this before.
A Farewell
Some lovely music from L’Enfance du Christ by Hector Berlioz – this performance is slower than the tempo marking – and one of the slowest I could find on YouTube! – but I think that is a good idea for this song 😃
More Bach
Having started Christmas Day with the opening chorus of Bach’s Weihnachts Oratorium, “Jauchzet, frohlocket!” I was going to bookend it with the final chorus today – but having searched for a suitable video I decided that you should have a bigger slice of Bach.
