Following on from the demonstration of the natural horn in yesterday’s link here is the Weber Concertino played on a natural horn. Another solo that I (along with most aspiring horn players) learned to play once upon a time.
Now – I can testify to this piece being sufficiently difficult to play even when you have the use of valves – so hats off to the soloist here (like yesterday I think I can safely say that I didn’t ever manage to pull this off as well as he does). This piece (for those who have not played the horn and therefore will probably not know it) is also the first use of multiphonics in the literature.
