There have been many tributes paid to Norman Bearcroft over the last couple of days and this is adding another – not just on my own behalf, but also from Boscombe Band of the Salvation Army. This recording is from their Sanctuary Volume II CD and is an ideal piece of music for a tribute and a farewell.
Salvation Army
Denmark, Sweden and Norway
Nine years ago Boscombe Band of the Salvation Army had just completed a tour of Scandinavia visiting Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
From The East
My Facebook memories reminded me that this event took place six years ago today and this is perhaps a perfect choice of music for these times.
Band Tour Of Florida
A few weeks ago I shared a video of some photos of the band’s visit to Sweden in 1990. That proved popular, so today we have something similar.
Flying Sticks
Its time that my “funny moments” anecdotes included something from the percussion section. I have certainly had my fair share of flying stick moments and an assortment of other mishaps. I suspect that there are a couple of songsters at Cardiff who are still having nightmares about the close thing they had with the bouncing bomb that was my double headed bass drum mallet 😲😂
A Moment Of Reflection
Tonight would have been my turn to provide the closing thought at our Band rehearsal. Instead I am doing “virtual devotions” for our band on a zoom call. Thursday is our usual rehearsal night and we have started having an online get together after the “Clap for the NHS”.
Glorianna On The Mountain
