From yesterday’s european style we travel across the pond to the Deep South and some New Orleans style🙂

The Magic of Jazz
The “Massive Monday” music is a bit different this week – will still require a bit of time to be devoted to it, but instead of a single longer work this contains a number of shorter pieces of music interspersed with an interview which traces some of the roots of jazz and the influences on jazz style.
Trumpet Duo
Digging once more into my saved videos on YouTube I have come across this impressive trumpet playing for tonight’s choice.
Soft Jazz For Friday
As usual – something gentle for Friday.
Man Of The Match – The Tambourine Player
Most cover versions of songs are done to “update” the experience – this group do the opposite.
Finally It Is Jazz Bach
Couldn’t have a week of Bach arrangements without Jacques Loussier.
Bach And Brass On Sunday
My Sunday choice is from an album that I have already shared a track a while back. Sometimes I like rearrangements – others don’t work so well.
Jazz Sunday
A little New Orleans Jazz for Sunday this week. This is invariably the opening number in Canadian Brass Concerts – I first head it on a recording (Unexplored Territory) – and don’t worry – the opening is supposed to sound like an old ’78’ recording – your audio hasn’t gone funny!!
A Wee Bit Of Sunshine
Given the rather damp weather here today I thought that my music should have a summery theme – so its a good time to also change the style a bit 😂
Jazz Bach
Yesterday’s post was of our band playing a brass arrangement of a vocal piece of music – something that is very common within Salvation Army music. Of course arrangements, or covers, or – as I have heard them called – recreations of pieces of music are ubiquitous throughout history. This week I will share some of those that I like – bearing in mind that for some nothing will ever surpass the original!!
