Our School had its major concert of the year at Christmas. Although the programme was not entirely Christmas themed I did get to play and sing a lot of seasonal music.
One That All Know
As I said in the previous post, this year’s Corps Carol Service will be a “virtual” one – you can watch it from 6pm on the Boscombe Corps YouTube Channel.
Who Is He
I mentioned the other day about all of the events that the Band would normally be taking part in during this Christmas season – the good news is that some small groups have been and will be able to be out playing some carols. Still far from normal, but it will hopefully bring a bit of Christmas cheer to some people.
Amsterdam Brass Christmas
Another ‘bonus’ post…..
Another Lovely Song From Sissel
This song you may well not be too familiar with – so here is an English translation of the words.
Cantique de Noël
There are a lot of musicians who are finding the restrictions placed on them by the pandemic very difficult. It doesn’t take long searching the www to find many of them performing in empty, or near empty, concert halls for their online listeners.
Still Mysterious
Last Friday it was a setting of O Magnum Mysterium written around 450 years ago – today, one that is around 25 yrs old.
A Christmas Symphony
Today’s choice includes a number of traditional carols and I am reasonably sure that you won’t have any trouble identifying them 😃
Perhaps a “Marmite” Choice
A few months ago I shared Jacob Collier’s version of “Moon River”. Today’s share is another of his creations – it comes from a few years earlier and features ‘only’ ten versions of himself rather than the 80 or so that appeared in Moon River.
An Event Not Happening
Like Salvation Army bands everywhere December in any other year would have been busy for us playing carols and Christmas music in many different settings.
