I’ve mentioned before the 12-LP set that was my initial introduction to classical orchestral music. Today’s share was another of the pieces of music that was within that collection – Dvorak’s Carnival Overture. However, I have noticed that this is something that I already shared several weeks ago! (oops)
Dvorak wrote a trio of overtures “Nature, Life and Love” of which the Carnival Overture is the second in the trilogy. I have now replaced it with the first of the three. Yet another good one!

I had a similar box set. It was a red box with gold writing. May have been Readers Digest?

This was the one I had – or rather my dad had! There was, I think a similar one (probably more recent 😁) which had a red box.

Mid-seventies I think. I’m forgetting you’re so much older 😉

This one?

That looks like it although I didn’t get it in 1963! I wasn’t even in the YP band then never mind the ‘B’ band with your dad 🤔

Reader’s Digest kept selling the same collections for years – I’m pretty sure we didn’t have the Great Composers one in 1959 when that was first released (and that was before I was in the YP Band 😂😂) – wasn’t long before you were in ‘B’ Band though….. 😉
