Anton Webern was born in Vienna just a few years after yesterday’s composer and in the same Glasgow University orchestra concert we played a Bach arrangement by him.
This is very different in style from the arrangement I shared yesterday and was actually quite challenging to play. The creator of this video has highlighted the score, in part, to show the musical lines – which move from one instrument to another every few notes.
That demands a lot of concentration to count the rests – a skill that has come in very useful since I moved to the percussion section. 😁
