Gloria With Glorianna

I have concentrated on the summer schools – but my association with the music department in Glasgow afforded a lot of other opportunities as well. One was being in the orchestra for a choral concert (I think with the Glasgow Schools Choir) consisting of the Faure Requiem and the Vivaldi Gloria.

As the Vivaldi did not have any brass I do remember singing along with the choir – at least during rehearsals – can’t remember whether I did at the concert itself.

The Sunday offering this week is the finale of the Gloria – not from that concert but from a concert featuring the Christchurch Priory Choir and the Glorianna Brass Ensemble (although I think we were actually billed as the Avon Brass Quintet for this performance 😃)

The recording quality isn’t ideal – but this was a concert that I really enjoyed. (and I also take credit for arranging the brass parts 😃)
