The final Knightswood School production that I was involved with was Yeomen of the Guard – and tonight’s link is to the overture.
The standout funny memory from that week featured the bass trombone player – he was also a music teacher at the school. The seating arrangement of the orchestra meant that he was right next to the stage.
At one point in the production a group of girls from the ‘chorus’ stood in a huddle, just next to him, and they had to be giggling. he decided that it would be a good idea on the second night to bring along a water pistol and encourage more giggling ๐๐
The following night after the ‘huddle’ formed the two girls who were at the front of the stage (with their backs to him) moved slightly apart to reveal one of the other girls had a fairy liquid bottle which was filled with water – she proceeded to give him quite a soaking ๐๐คฃ๐ – only problem was – she also managed to soak his music stand – resulting in the ink running somewhat on his music – good job he had a good memory๐
