We continue the percussion season – after yesterday’s “precision” today we have something VERY different – but equally impressive in its own way.
Not Much of a Secret
More drums – its hard to imagine that anybody has never come across this particular group – so this will probably not come as a surprise. The precision in their routines is quite fantastic.
Its a Real Blast
Following on from the fact that yesterday’s music featured the percussion section it seems like a good idea to have a few more – haven’t done a “percussion season” yet in these shares.
Is It Raining
One further share from the video of the Bands visit to Jönköping in 1990. Before sharing a wee story about this one I must credit my younger daughter, Alice, for doing such a good job of getting the video from VHS to mp4 (don’t want to get told off like last week 😉)
Doon the Watter
Well, folks seemed to like Kenneth McKellar the other day – so here is a real “blast from the past”.
Happy (belated) Birthday, Phil
Today – a gentle Scottish waltz.
To The Hebrides
There are many pieces of music in the classical repertoire that are connected – one way or another – to Scotland. Dating from an earlier time than the Bruch that I shared on Tuesday is this famous overture.
Holocaust Memorial Day
Taking a detour away from the Scottish theme today to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
A Magic Violinist
Continuing the scottish theme today…
This is How To Play the Cymbals
A bonus share tonight – specially for all percussionists who feel that they spend a lot of time doing nothing!!
