Bringing Out The Big Guns

A bit of fun for Saturday night. To complete my percussion week I am rolling out the big guns – and I mean really – big guns. It is, I guess debatable whether guns count as percussion, but in all the performances I have been involved with “cannons” its been the percussion section’s task to coordinate them – never with guns quite this big though!!

Given the number of ‘surprises’ that can occur in any piece of music that requires cannons it is to their great credit that this comes off pretty flawlessly. My favourite bit actually isn’t the guns – its the four wonderful guys with flags telling them when to fire!!

Its noticeable that in what looks like the VIP seats everyone has gone for cover – perhaps they didn’t want to get “blown away” by the performance ๐Ÿ˜‚ ( a bit like England were blown away by Scotland in the rugby this afternoon ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ)
