Better Than My Effort

Just noticed that yesterday was a milestone in my daily music posts – number 100! Today is also an auspicious day in terms of my Glasgow Schools reminiscing – the 16th is the only one that I have two different concerts to choose from.

In 1975 I was again horn tutor at the “concert band” course (they had changed the name from “military band” that year) – this time in Musselburgh – there was a great pizza restaurant close by๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

But my choice today goes back further as today marks 50 years since my orchestral debut in Rothesay with the second orchestra. I don’t have the recording of that concert to hand (๐Ÿ˜‰) so I’m afraid you cannot hear my performance – but I can share the next best thing ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I do remember that – naive as I was – I turned up at the start of the course without the expected cadenza – so something had to be created during the first few days.

Sadly, there are also no photos from then to share either.
