Another R&J

We stick with the same subject matter for today’s music – here is Tchaikovsky’s vision of Romeo and Juliet.

My ‘older’ readers may remember a BBC programme “Face The Music”. I have a number of memories of that programme, one of which involves this music. It had a variety of questions about music – was informative, entertaining and often very funny. This was definitely in the funny category.

The guests were challenged to accurately perform the cymbal part for a few bars (it starts soon after 13 minutes on this video) – a challenge that, if I remember correctly, they were not entirely successful in meeting!! 😁

I have chosen this performance to share because it does have the best view of the cymbal player at that point in the music that I could find!

That was a wee while ago, George. Is that the one with the ‘dummy keyboard’??

That’s correct! Good programme can’t seem to find much of it online though!
