A Lovely Voice

I confessed to my favourite composer being Anton Bruckner the other day – but I do find it hard to name my “favourite …”, whether it be favourite music, favourite performer or whatever. My moment of calm for the Friday is a song by someone who might just be my favourite singer (sorry to all my singing friends – you didn’t quite make the top of the list 😀)

I first heard her when she performed at the opening ceremony of the Lillehammer Winter Olympics in 1994. When I chose my 20 albums recently I confined my list to records – had it included CDs there is no doubt that one of the albums by Sissel Kyrkjebø would have been included.

Enjoy this lovely rendition of a well known song – those in Boscombe Band who were on the tour to Norway will recognise the venue of this recording (but you probably don’t remember that it is called Bergstadens Ziir 😉)
