I mentioned the english language cinema in Wien the other day – another part of my life there was the english language radio station – Blue Danube Radio. Due to that I was probably more ‘educated’ on pop music than at any other time in my life.
The reason was Casey Kasem’s American top 40 which was broadcast each week. Not only did I hear a lot of the chart music (that would otherwise probably have passed me by) but he also provided lots of ‘interesting’ back stories as well about both the performers and the songs. Today’s choice comes from a band that I heard on that programme many times. I probably heard a number of stories about them as well – but sadly all that remains in my memory after all these years is the music😀
