We were in London a couple of days ago with the Cockaigne Overture and we return there today.
The music of Eric Coates is often ‘relegated’ to a “light classics” league that is somewhat frowned upon by some ‘serious’ musicians. It was, however, very much a part of my school concerts and the like. I was going to share the “London Suite” today – unfortunately I couldn’t find a recording of the whole suite on YouTube that did the music justice. (there is also a “London Again Suite”)
So here are the three movements in a reasonably modern recording (many of the existing recordings rather show their age 😃).
