This is perhaps my favourite Christmas song – written by Michael Praetorius and arranged here by Jan Sandström
Voces8 are an ensemble that I have featured often and are here joined by Ringmasters. This song, like the previous post, was used in a different, more modern, version previously in this blog.
Although fast music requires a certain dexterity I am more impressed by anyone who can perform something really slowly without losing the musicality – it is a much more difficult skill to master in my opinion. Here we have, perhaps, the slowest performance of this song that I have heard – but performed beatifully.
