For Remembrance Sunday

In any ‘normal’ year our Band would be gathering near Bournemouth Square and preparing to lead the parade of veterans to the Cenotaph. This has been the norm for a long time – the number of veterans has be dwindling, the length of the march has become much shorter and there are now just a few flags of the British Legion instead of dozens, but it is always a special occasion.

This piece of music was often used – and is perhaps my favourite of those pieces associated with this morning.

Part of the march was captured on video a couple of years ago – the Band and the parade entering the Gardens in Bournemouth
