Chamber Music Fun

This is a piece of music that I played quite a lot – partly because it was always easier to find just two other players compared to any larger grouping😃

It was written a few years before yesterday’s symphony, but is undeniably 20th century and there is no way you would mistake it for one of the Romantic compositions.

I think this was probably my first encounter with the music of Poulenc – always a bit “playful” I guess I would describe it. This is a particularly good recording with a stellar cast (of three!!)

Francis Poulenc : Sonata for Horn, Trumpet and Trombone
