I am thinking that first footing isn’t within the covid guidelines so here is a wee something for after the bells – sing and dance along and pretend that everyone is together.
Year: 2020
A Hogmanay Jig
It wouldn’t be Hogmanay without a bit of what we would have described as Teuchter music π. This video also gives you an opportunity to learn a Scottish dance – although given the covid-19 restrictions very few will have enough people for this one π
A Band – But NOT Brass
There is a bit of brass in this one – but this is something a bit different from recent choices. It didn’t quite make the list pre-Christmas day
German Brass Christmas
More Brass today – I mentioned the concert by the NYPO brass the other day, it was one of several that I have viewed online over the last couple of weeks. We really are spoilt for choice when it comes to accessing good music these days. One that particularly captured my attention was from Germany.
The Winter Season
For today’s “full work” I was going to share Vivaldi’s “Winter” from the set of violin concerti that go by the title “The Four Seasons”. Then I changed my mind and decided to give you all four! π
More Bach
Having started Christmas Day with the opening chorus of Bach’s Weihnachts Oratorium, “Jauchzet, frohlocket!” I was going to bookend it with the final chorus today – but having searched for a suitable video I decided that you should have a bigger slice of Bach.
Yes – Winter Came
We didn’t have a “quiet choice” yesterday so today we make up for it with three minutes or so to sit back – close your eyes – and drift off to sleep because you did too much yesterday π
The First Carol Of The Day
Happy Christmas to all from the Band.
Welcome Christmas
and after the proclamation from John Tavener what better than Bach to welcome the day. From the Christmas Oratorio :
Into Christmas
Music to go into Christmas Day – again I’ve chosen something a little less well known.
