Although I have written many words in this blog (and elsewhere) that express my ideas on assorted subjects it would still be fair to say that my underlying mantra on what it all means is “I don’t know” – which perhaps is just as well as it reinforces the purposes of the blog. All of my ideas/thoughts/beliefs are – as far as I am concerned – interim ones which might be superceded tomorrow – or next week – or few years from now – or perhaps even before I finish writing this sentence.

More On Making Memories
My musings on making memories was triggered by a reminder of just how limited our life span is. The inevitability of death is something that everyone must acknowledge, our time is most definitely running out from the moment we are born. Its OK – this isn’t intended to be a morbid post to the blog – simply a working through of some thoughts related to a heightened awareness of our own mortality.
You Don’t Know Me!
The subject of memories continues to throw up new nuances. The trigger for today’s musing is hearing (a number of times about a number of different people) “I didn’t know that X used to….” – its a phrase that is heard a lot these days.
What Do We Leave Behind?
None of us is immortal – as someone (probably lots of people) once said “everybody dies” – although few know beforehand exactly when that is going to happen. A seemingly growing trend is to generate a “bucket list” – things to do before I die – always assuming I get round to them in time that is…. The longer the list, the less chance that you will actually complete it!
I’m NOT Going Back
Previous writings for this blog have addressed the issue of “regret” in terms of changing our past behaviours and decisions whether that be considering the different outcomes – if only – or looking at what would not have happened if we hadn’t done what we did – only if. This post returns to that but focusses on a new aspect.
On Avoiding Extreme Reactions
Its not the first time that I have been ‘inspired’ to post something in the blog as result of an idea planted in my head by the theme of a service at church. The last one was all about making mistakes – this time I am thinking about the way we deal with “Triumph and
Just Trying To Keep Up
Social media is an evolving beast – I think that I have expressed previously my thoughts that we are all still very much in the learning curve when it comes to understanding the effect that it has on all parts of our lives. This means that there is no deep seated set of behaviours that everyone would agree as “acceptable” and that, in turn, leads to many making mistakes.
On Being Misunderstood
Actually – it would be more accurate to say that I was NOT understood rather than I was MISunderstood!! However, the former more often than not leads to the latter. It has happened twice today already – actually probably more than that as those are just the ones that I KNOW about!!
Are You Happy With Your Profile Picture?
On social media, is your profile picture how you see yourself or how you want others to see you?
Entanglement
This blog is predicated on the foundation that I don’t know everything. That – I am sure everyone who knows me will agree – is a not unreasonable starting point. 😉 Sometimes it surprises me just how much is included in the not known bucket – then I think – what about all the rest that I haven’t yet realised I don’t know – and that makes me slightly more comfortable with having such a big list of things I don’t know – it is dwarved by the (likely) list of things I don’t know that I don’t know!!!
