Entanglement

This blog is predicated on the foundation that I don’t know everything. That – I am sure everyone who knows me will agree – is a not unreasonable starting point. 😉 Sometimes it surprises me just how much is included in the not known bucket – then I think – what about all the rest that I haven’t yet realised I don’t know – and that makes me slightly more comfortable with having such a big list of things I don’t know – it is dwarved by the (likely) list of things I don’t know that I don’t know!!!

Time To Talk

Today is “Time to Talk” Day (as well as World Cancer Day) and I think that writing something on the topic is near to essential for me. It is shocking to think that the figures show that 1 in 4 people will be afflicted with Mental Health issues in their lifetime. Once upon a time that sort of thing was taboo to talk about – not now, when it seems to affect everyone – one way or another.

Is There Such A Thing As Friendly Manipulation?

It is no real surprise that when blogging on a reasonably regular basis there is a tendency for similar themes to recur.  Anyone who has read through some of my posts will have seen some of these repetitive refrains and this post is yet another angle on the recurrent theme of “there is a lot of grey between black and white”!

Who Ties The String?

One of the recurring themes of my posts here (the most recent is Someone Is Pulling The Strings Again) is my thoughts on the applicability of the “Red Thread of Fate” – East Asian folklore that is specifically about the way in which we are “bound” to our soulmate, but which I see as a useful metaphor for the way in which we are “connected” to each other in a multitude of ways (perhaps there out to be more colours to denote the ‘nature’ of the connection!  We could then have a rainbow world – in whatever dimension that thread resides!!!)

Not More Platitudes!

When writing to a friend this morning I found myself unable to find anything worthwhile to say because all the ‘obvious’ responses were sounding like platitudes.  You know the sort – someone is feeling a bit “down” and you say “pull yourself together” – or someone tells you that they have broken their leg and you say “hope it gets better soon”!!

A Partial Summary

Although the entries in this blog are sporadic and are not following any particular pattern there are a few themes that run through them and which recur in different posts.  I’m just thinking that it might be as well to provide a bit of a summary and a few links to enable easier browsing between related posts.

Someone Is Pulling The Strings Again

In previous posts I wrote about the way in which I have “re-interpreted” an East Asian belief regarding the “Red String of Fate”.  It is time to revisit the idea and to write a bit more – expanding the original thoughts and considering just what we are “tied” to.
