Inspirational Writing

There is no doubt that if this blog goes the same way as the one that I have previously published privately then a significant number of the posts will result from the discovery of a really apt quote or article that resonates with my own views.ย  This post is one such and is inspired by words fromย Viktor Frankl.

A Blogging Newbie

You might think so, but the reality is that I have been doing the non-web version of blogging for a long time and, indeed, I’ve even had a real blog for a few years on our company intranet – so with a limited (very limited??) readership. Since originally writing this post I have added some posts which predate it – either in describing some event or because I wrote it “back then”.

Welcome to My Library

The posts in this collection are about books that I have read. As it is with the other collections, there are some still to be ported over from their previous home. Once the collection is complete you will be able to see my – pretty eclectic – reading tastes. There is usually a short summary of what I thought of the book – the more ‘thoughtful’ books getting a longer summary.

I should also add that I really have read some books since 2020 ๐Ÿ˜‰

Welcome to Albums

This set of posts explains itself – what we have here is a selection of photographic albums documenting some of the places that I have visited. Hope you will find something you like in some of these collections. Linked from this post is a selection of some of my favourite pictures that I use as wallpaper on my desktop. These are (mostly) also in the appropriate posts elsewhere in this blog, but are gathered together here as a sort of taster. Note that this is a big album ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Some of the albums contain a private area which is password protected – this is simply because publishing pictures of people on the www is sometimes abused. If you would like to know the password – please ask!

Contemplation No.6

These contemplations were written in Vienna in May and June 1986. They are entirely unstructured and split into the separate sessions when I originally wrote them. They are, perhaps my first ever blogs although that long ago there was no www around to host the blog ๐Ÿ˜‚ that is how old I am. They can be seen as an early attempt to “feed my ignorance” in precisely the way that this blog later took form. They are, of course, representative of my thoughts back then which have inevitably changed in many ways since that time.
