Although I was only able to get to the last hour or so of this year’s air show I did manage to get one or two good pictures. Not taken from the ‘ideal’ position – but some of the planes came close enough.
Holiday
A Visit Home
After a four year gap we finally went back to Glasgow – this time doing the real ‘tourist’ bit within the City itself.
A Visit to Mottisfont Abbey
We visited the Abbey on 8th August – I must admit that the pic of the horse is an interloper – that was actually taken the following day at Danebury Iron Age Hill Fort.
Visit to Rochdale 2014
Some pictures from Lancashire and Yorkshire during our trip to Rochdale
Le Tour de France in Yorkshire
As we were staying just a couple of miles from the route it seemed like a good idea to hike uphill to see the passing of the peloton! I’ve tried to capture a few images that illustrate the atmosphere.
Some Pictures of Queens
A visit to Southampton to see the Cunard Queens.
A Visit to Devon and Cornwall
We had a great few days staying in a lodge at Wooda Lakes – and although there are far too many pictures of ducks and waves we did get to see quite a bit of a lovely part of the country.
Castle Toward
In July 1971 I attended the Glasgow Schools’ 1st Orchestra summer ‘camp’. I guess that ‘camp’ is not really the right word as we spent the time at Castle Toward – certainly not the usual notion of what a camp looks like. This was my second orchestral summer residential course following on from the 2nd Orchestra’s time in Rothesay the previous year and coming at the end of my schooling as it did I certainly envisaged it would be my last. (although things didn’t actually turn out that way)
