After leaving Las Vegas we headed west, stopping off at the Griffiths Observatory in Los Angeles before heading on to Cambria for a couple of nights.
Holiday
Las Vegas 2018
An assortment of images from day and night in Las Vegas
Grand Canyon West
Like Yosemite – the Grand Canyon is unrepresentable in pictures. We visited Grand Canyon West – the least developed of the three main tourist areas around the vast Canyon. The views were simply stunning – and the pictures fail to give a real sense of the scale. In one picture I have highlighted a helicopter flying through the canyon – it is (at the resolution that is used in these albums) impossible to spot.
Visit to Hoover Dam
A must visit from Las Vegas is the magnificent Hoover Dam.
Visit to King’s Canyon
Yosemite has a number of ‘cousins’ when it comes to spectacular Californian valleys. A couple of days after our visit to Yosemite we went to King’s Canyon – much less developed – and the day we went very much deserted, which was nice. The trip also took in the Sequoias.
Visit to Yosemite
There are some places in the world where even the best photos cannot hope to convey the experience of actually being there – Yosemite is one of those. This selection from the pictures that I took during our couple of days in the area doesn’t come close to representing the grandeur of the scenery, but hopefully gives a little taster that makes you want to go see it for yourself.
San Francisco
Our first port of call in our roadtrip around California (and some other bits….).
La Crosse – Wisconsin
Our first stop – University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.
Rome 2017
Our visit to Rome in October 2017. There are more pics in this album than I usually try to limit myself to (although I have now culled about one third of the original number) – however this is the first outing of my new camera and I am rather pleased with some of the results. Hope you enjoy the output.
Sculpture By The Lakes
