Every now and again I do share something that is NOT part of my musical series and this is one of those posts.

I think that the most amazing musical talent that I have 'discovered' this year has to be Jacob Collier. As a result I have shared a number of his videos. One thing that is 'different' about him is his personality and that undoubtedly helps with how he gets his 'message' across.
If you haven't already seen it - another young personality shone at the inauguration of President Biden. This time a poet - but again there is much more to this young lady than 'just' the performance (I recommend that you have a look at the interview she did on James Corden's show if you want to know more background)
Yes - this poem is specifically targeted at the occasion itself and it is primarily speaking to America and Americans - but at the same time, the underlying ethos is global and should be heard.
"So let us leave behind a country
better than the one we were left with"
So easily that could be "a world" rather than "a country"!
I am no wordsmith, but I can appreciate the talent, skill and the excellence of the performance - if you want to read the words, then there are plenty of places online where they can be found and it has its own page on wikipedia.
