Most, although not all, of my Friday choices have been of relatively positive/happy music. Today's is less cheerful.

This counts as one of my earliest introductions to classical music as it was one of the set works that I studied at school for my music exams. It was also the 'earliest' chronologically as Purcell was the 'oldest' composer that we studied.
So I learned all about a Ground Bass 😃
This version is a very recent recording - another covid-version - and it appeared in my feed just before Christmas - I immediately earmarked it as a future share - taking me back to my school days.
We only studied in depth about a handful of pieces (some of which I have previously shared) but I am grateful for the fact that our school had a great music department - with a varied collection of recordings which we, as music students, could listen to in our free time. There is no doubt that this environment widened my musical appreciation.
