Laid in Lockdown
Most, although not all, of my Friday choices have been of relatively positive/happy music. Today's is less cheerful.
Where is Silver?
Another old TV theme tune - although surely this is an easy one to identify. Not sure about the rest of the operas, but the Rossini Overtures are great!

Yet More Bernstein
Time for something a bit more lively - I attended many outdoor concerts in Wien during the summers that I was there but never one at Schloss Schönbrunn - what a great place for a concert! I see from the comments that this annual concert commenced in 2008 - I was there too early😃

Mellow Maria
Very different to yesterday - I think this is a great arrangement - and some really lovely horn playing on it as well. (actually it is a great CD as a whole)
Happy (belated) Birthday Barbra
Today's post is inspired by the fact that the singer, Barbra Streisand, had her 78th birthday yesterday - Happy Birthday!
Danilo's Story
As I have said before, there are many treats around on the www during this lockdown as musicians, orchestras, opera companies, theatres and much more all find themselves unable to perform as they would normally do. One of those is the Metropolitan Opera of New York who are offering a stream of an opera from their recordings each evening. Tonight it is Franz Lehar's Die lustige Witwe (The Merry Widow).
