Boscombe in Sweden
Continuing with obscure TV themes from the distant past here is a real "blast from the past" (this is much more difficult to identify than yesterday's) - Boscombe Band in Sweden in 1990.
...
This has been 'rescued' from a VHS tape so the video is a bit patchy in quality - but we do see (much) younger versions of some of the current members of the band and many others that we remember fondly. This is the March from Dag Wirén's Serenade for Strings - arranged by Michael Kenyon for us to use on the tour.
Some comments received :
Stephen Main : Actually if I remember now, Geoff literally brought this piece out the day of the evening concert and I told Andrew before the piece I couldn't play it and I think he was smiling in agreement. Did we rehearse this piece in an actual rehearsal? Oh the memories. 🤪
Me : I'm pretty sure we didn't rehearse it much - if at all - but I think we had played it the previous evening at Södertälje - probably rehearsed it that day!! 😂
