To complete my percussion week I am rolling out the big guns &#8211; and I mean really &#8211; big guns. It is, I guess debatable whether guns count as percussion, but in all the performances I have been involved with &#8220;cannons&#8221; its been the percussion section&#8217;s task to coordinate them &#8211; never with guns quite this big though!!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Given the number of &#8216;surprises&#8217; that can occur in any piece of music that requires cannons it is to their great credit that this comes off pretty flawlessly.
