Today&#8217;s share was another of the pieces of music that was within that collection &#8211; Dvorak&#8217;s Carnival Overture. However, I have noticed that this is something that I already shared several weeks ago! (oops)<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Dvorak wrote a trio of overtures &#8220;Nature, Life and Love&#8221; of which the Carnival Overture is the second in the trilogy. I have now replaced it with the first of the three. It was a red box with gold writing. May have been Readers Digest?<\/p>\n<p><strong>George R McConnell<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This was the one I had &#8211; or rather my dad had! I wasn\u2019t even in the YP band then never mind the \u2018B\u2019 band with your dad \ud83e\udd14<\/p>\n<p><strong>George R McConnell<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reader&#8217;s Digest kept selling the same collections for years &#8211; I&#8217;m pretty sure we didn&#8217;t have the Great Composers one in 1959 when that was first released (and that was before I was in the YP Band \ud83d\ude02\ud83d\ude02) &#8211; wasn&#8217;t long before you were in &#8216;B&#8217; Band though&#8230;.. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" title=\"red thread\" src=\"https:\/\/systemsthink.co.uk\/jimages\/B Band 71.jpg\" alt=\"B Band 71\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve mentioned before the 12-LP set that was my initial introduction to classical orchestral music.
