Almost nine years ago now since I started this blog – although I had been blogging on my work intranet for a few years before that.\u00a0 I decided that now is a good time to recap on the raison d’etre of what I am writing here.<\/p>\n

In my first post I wrote :<\/p>\n
No, the purpose is to explore the limits of my own knowledge; to try to figure out the answer to “why?”; and to progress along the road that Einstein laid out in his quote that I am using as a tagline to increase my circle of ignorance – hence the name of the blog.<\/p>\n
I sort of hope that one or two things along the way will be of interest to someone, but if not – then so be it. I will not be in any way offended!<\/em><\/div>\n
The tagline quote from Einstein to the right is being proven so true – the more I feed my ignorance, the more I discover that there is more to know.\u00a0 Just at the moment in particular I am finding new sources, new people to ‘listen to’ and – perhaps surprisingly – just a few hints that I am not the only one who thinks this way.<\/p>\n
Just tonight I found a new person who I need to listen to a bit more – I’ll keep his identity secret for now until I can talk a little more intelligently about him.\u00a0 One thing though from what he was saying struck home and triggered this post.\u00a0 He made a distinction between “ignorance” (which I have been at pains to point out is a lack of knowledge, not a lack of intelligence) and “foolishness” – using that knowledge in ‘wrong’ ways.\u00a0 I’m sure I will come back to that distinction.<\/p>\n
