So has that title popped the sound of the Rolling Stones in your head \ud83d\ude02 … Maybe the last time – I don’t know! My previous post ended with a little “epilogue” about that. It isn’t the only time it has happened, but what particularly triggered the thought at this time was “is this the last time I vote in a General Election”?<\/p>\n

“Who knows” is, of course, the only sensible response to that (for all sorts of reasons). I am pretty sure that the thought didn’t cross my mind at the time of the last election, so this is clearly something reasonably recent. As I said in the other post, this is not a morbid type of thought it is simply a recognition of how things are. Of course, the first general election I ever voted in could have been my last – but at that time I didn’t give that a thought at all.<\/p>\n
I guess everyone goes through a similar process whereby they come to terms with their own mortality – the fact that life certainly does not go on forever – that there will be, at some stage, an end point and we rarely have much foreknowledge of when that will come.<\/p>\n
