{"id":1382,"date":"2020-09-07T15:17:35","date_gmt":"2020-09-07T15:17:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/systemsthink.co.uk\/wordpress\/?p=1382"},"modified":"2024-06-17T19:54:14","modified_gmt":"2024-06-17T19:54:14","slug":"the-magic-of-jazz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/systemsthink.co.uk\/wordpress\/the-magic-of-jazz\/","title":{"rendered":"The Magic of Jazz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The &#8220;Massive Monday&#8221; music is a bit different this week &#8211; will still require a bit of time to be devoted to it, but instead of a single longer work this contains a number of shorter pieces of music interspersed with an interview which traces some of the roots of jazz and the influences on jazz style.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Wynton Marsalis hasn&#8217;t yet featured in my choices, so this is long overdue and this shows him to be not only a great trumpet player but also someone who can talk knowledgeably about the music, its history and its great players as well.<\/p>\n<p>I found this informative, entertaining and, when it comes to the performance of Amazing Grace, very moving.
