Going Right Back To The Beginning
Almost nine years ago now since I started this blog - although I had been blogging on my work intranet for a few years before that. I decided that now is a good time to recap on the raison d'etre of what I am writing here.

A Lesson Learned (on being stuck)
I've started on my newest online creation - partially inspired by the making memories series of posts here - to create a bit of a "life history" - a treasure trove of memories (probably real and imagined if you have read some of my previous writing on the subject) - a pot-pourri of little highlights (and possibly some lowlights) of my life.

The Ignorance Trough
Where do I go to feed my ignorance? The answers are limitless really and, simplistically, I go where life takes me. However, there are some sources that have proven to be of more interest than others to me and that is the point of this post.
Still Hungry!!
The title of this blog "Feeding My Ignorance" is derived from the Terry Pratchett quote that appears at the top of the Wiki page. This allied to the Einstein quote on the Home page illustrates that my take on ignorance is not a negative one - and that the fact that my 'perceived' ignorance is increasing is actually a very positive (if paradoxical) sign of increased knowledge.

A Partial Summary
Although the entries in this blog are sporadic and are not following any particular pattern there are a few themes that run through them and which recur in different posts. I'm just thinking that it might be as well to provide a bit of a summary and a few links to enable easier browsing between related posts.

A Long Hiatus
It probably was not the plan to have a brief flurry of activity in this blog followed by quiet for months - but that is how it has turned out - almost echoing what was one of the first posts in the series which stated Prediction is difficult - especially about the future.
Hopefully things are now back on track and I have a number of topics that I want to ponder in coming posts - especially regarding systems thinking and a number of extremely interesting discussion taking place in the Systems Thinking World group of LinkedIn. I would certainly recommend that if you are interested in the concept of thinking in systems that you visit, join and contribute to that group.

A Blogging Newbie?
You might think so, but the reality is that I have been doing the non-web version of blogging for a long time and, indeed, I've even had a real blog for a few years on our company intranet - so with a limited (very limited??) readership.
Welcome!
The purpose of this blog is not to show off what I know; nor to seem to be clever; nor to put forward my daft ideas as "the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth"; nor to suggest that I know anything that other people don't know.
No, the purpose is to explore the limits of my own knowledge; to try to figure out the answer to "why?"; and to progress along the road that Einstein laid out in his quote that I am using as a tagline to increase my circle of ignorance - hence the name of the blog.
I sort of hope that one or two things along the way will be of interest to someone, but if not - then so be it. I will not be in any way offended! I have no idea where this is going to lead eventually, but we have got to start somewhere.
I did toy with the idea of separate blogs for different subjects, but the reality is that I am the disparate collection of subjects and they are, inevitably, interrelated - so its one blog and I shall try to use the categories intelligently to direct the curious.
